Helping at Playgroup

We really value help at Playgroup especially at the Christmas nativity and of course at our fundraising events. There are always supportive jobs that we appreciate help with.  We are happy for you to come into the sessions with prior notice given to the Manager as it will give you the opportunity to see what your child does at Playgroup and it will also give you the opportunity to see how Playgroup is run and enjoy a unique experience with your child.

Snack Time

Children are offered a drink of milk or a drink of water and it is requested that each child bring a piece of fruit prepared in a named container for each of the snack times - please ensure that all grapes, cherries, oranges or tomatoes are cut up and there are no nuts as we are a nut free zone. Parents are advised to inform the Staff of any dietary requirements. Juice may be brought into Playgroup as an alternative to milk.  Named water bottles can be brought in and you are advised to do so in hot weather.

Lunch Club - Tuesdays and Wednesdays

The children are collected by the lunch club staff at 11.50 am to wash their hands and find their seats ready to eat their pack lunch.  The children are given half an hour to eat their lunch but if they take a little longer that is fine.  If children finish early they will have a story read to them before then enjoying the afternoon session.  The lunch club is supervised by fully qualified staff and any food not eaten is placed back in the pack up bags so Parents can see what and how much their children are eating.  A healthy eating information leaflet is provided to all who participate in the lunch club. Please can we ask that no products containing nuts be brought into Playgroup.

Stockton Lane Playgroup accepts children who are not toilet trained. The playgroup provides nappies and spare clothing in case of little accidents but kindly asks if you could provide nappies and spare clothing in your child's day bag. Parents are welcome to discuss their child’s toileting requirements and progress with staff.

Children are requested to wear sensible clothing and Playgroup T shirts and or sweat shirts can be bought from Playgroup. In the interests of safety we request that children wear plimsoles or doodles in the sessions and bring coats and wellies for outdoor use. Please name all items of clothing.
