Inclusion & Curriculum

All children at Stockton Lane Playgroup are encouraged to access a fully inclusive curriculum.

Children with additional needs have My Agreed Outcomes and or Plans or a My Support Plan or where appropriate an EHCP  drawn up in partnership with their Parents, the Special Educational Need Coordinator (SENCO) and other professionals. The SENCO is Fiona Wheeler and is supported by Kath Strickland.  Staff have undertaken training to help support children with additional needs including autism and Makaton signing.

The children at Stockton Lane Playgroup enjoy a play-based curriculum that enables staff to support and extend their learning. Staff work within the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines.  Staff meet once a week to plan activities that link in with each child's interests and lines of learning helping them to make good progress and this was reflected in our OFSTED report 13th June 2018.

A child's Learning Journey is compiled on each child using the Tapestry program and is accessible to Parents and Carers and you are welcome to discuss your child’s progress with Staff at any time.  Parents are given a comprehensive 2 year report and a Pre School report detailing the development of your child and celebrating their achievements.  There is also a Parent afternoon/evening in the Spring.

We work in partnership with the local Schools to ensure a smooth transition for your child into School.
