Staffing

All our Staff are appropriately qualified for their positions and hold current first aid and safeguarding certificates. Each child will be allocated a Key Person (member of staff) to care for your child and these members of Staff have a depth of experience of working with children.

Heidi Lever - Manager 

I have had two children attend the setting and they really enjoyed their time here. Over the last 18 months I have been the Chair of the Committee and have enjoyed working with the team and the committee members of this wonderful Playgroup. I can't wait to continue the excellent provision that has been offered by Fiona and the team over the years. Before having my two children I previously worked at a Kindergarten for 13 years and managed it for 8 years having gained my degree in Early Years and Childcare.

 

Kirsty Edge - Deputy Manager and SENCO

I have a son and hold a NNEB and childcare qualification. I started my career as a nanny and progressed to being a Deputy Manager of a nursery in York. Having  covered as Relief Supervisor I am now delighted to be a Deputy Manager and champion Tapestry ECAT and am SENCO to Playgroup.

 

Katie Mortimer-Early Years Practitioner/Health & Safety Key Person

I have worked in Early Years Settings and Schools as a teaching assistant supporting children's learning and development for a number of years.  I have a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years and Supporting Teaching and Learning.I also work supporting children with special educational needs.  I am a Mum to two boys one is at a local secondary school and the other is at university and I have a 2 year old girl who attends Playgroup

Kath Strickland - Early Years Practitioner

I have worked in the childcare sector for a number of years and in a variety of areas including nursery assistant, nanny, play worker and teaching assistant and have enjoyed all experiences.  I have a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce which I completed in 2012 and I am also First Aid trained.  I am married with a 12 year old daughter who goes to the local secondary school and also have a 6 year old daughter wo attends the local primary school.  I am excited and love being  part of the Playgroup Team helping with SEN children and recently undertook my SENCO training.
 

Rebecca Welburn - Playgroup Assistant

have been working with children for the past 13 years mainly as a ISTD dance teacher. I studied dance at a performing arts college in Liverpool where I gained my dance teaching qualification with some of the modules including children’s life span development. I have two young children of my own a little girl  who attended Stockton Lane playgroup before starting school and I also have a little boy. I am currently looking forward to starting my Early Years Qualification as I have learnt so much through my time at Playgroup and with my children now at School have time to study for my Early Years Qualification.
